Rapper/Actor Ice-T to add Mediator to Job Title

In his late 19th century essay The Decay of Lying, Oscar Wilde wrote "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life." This is, perhaps, no better show than by the news that Ice-T — he of the NBC police drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and song “Cop Killer” — is staring in the Fox TV series “The Mediator with Ice-T”.

And, yes, he will be mediating disputes.

Set to premiere in March 2021, Ice-T will be mediating disputes between individuals. Calling upon “well-known and knowledgeable experts”, Ice-T will propose a settlement which the parties are free to accept or reject. The Executive Producer of the show stated “Ice-T has the credibility of an OG, the wisdom of Yoda, and the sense of humor of a standup comic. Never has a voice like his been needed more in the marketplace.”

No word on whether or not Ice-T will receive any professional training as mediator.
